Acoustic pick 3, 6, 7
Modern rock clean guitar 8
Rock electric guitar 1
Strummed acoustic guitar

Locations

Main location for filming in Croydon with the use of the subways and alleyways for the scenes where the character is being abused. These are public places so we don't need to get permission

Here are a few different subways in Croydon we could use for our short film:

Subway 1 (near church)

Subway 2
Subway 2 (continued - different angle)
Subway 3
Extra pictures/ locations
Local streets for the end scene with the bully getting nearly hit by the car - We decided to go with local
streets as it will be less busy so easier to control filming in those areas and it is safer.

Multi story car park for the citizen death combined with green screen - We need a building that we have access to in order to take stills to be used for the green screen so there is no danger for the performer and is easier of us to achieve.

Evaluation - Alea

Evaluation of last years AS which was to create a 2 minute opening of a Thriller Film describing what worked well in our film, what didnt work well, the techniques that we used and what I feel could have been imporved upon.

Research - Alea

Amelia and Micheal

  • The genre of the piece is social realism which is determinable by the style and content of this film. This films narrative is character driven, it follows a couples activities when they are apart from one another as both of them are cheating on each other. The characters themselves are scripted to just be real people in thier everyday life so aims for a sense of realism and the mise en scene also reflects this. The settings that we see are those of everyday environments: interior of a house, a hotel, hosptial and streets.
  • Conventions of social realsit genre in this film is a realistic style of film with real characters that are believeable and allows the audeince to empathise and connect with them. The story itself focuses on a real life situation and is not complicated. The editing also refelcts this, it simple with few transitions and simple cuts. The only transitons that appear are at the beggining if the film and near the end, both of these fade to black and are used to transition between shots and the opening titles as well to bring the audeince into the action  after the titles have finshed at the beginning of the film. At the end it is used to show a passing of time as we are brought to the end scene in the morning when they are both in the car before the dip to white as the end credits come in. Use of simple editing like this allows the audeince to follow the action and is conventional of the social realsim genre.
  • With a short narrative something that is not dominant in the film is dialouge. Most of the narrative is mainly described through the characters with body movement, interactions as well as props and setting. It allows the audeince to interpret more for themselves and raises questions as a narrative. With this narrative it is quite clear what is happening to the audience, it raises questions at first but are answered in the scenes shortly thereafter. We dont know at the begging why the characters seem so distant but after it is clear why, they are both having an affair with someone else. The narrative does loosely follow the three act structure of the set up, conforntation, and resolution. The set up of the story is establishing that Amelia is having an affair and a little but later in the story it also establishes that Micheal is too. The conforntation is when Amelia finds Micheal's passport in the drawer despite him having to supossedly have been to Milano and recives a phone call that says something has happend to the person she is having an affair with. The resoloution is that the person she's having an affair with dies and she has to return to Micheal who thinks she knows about what he has been doing and that is what she is upset about. At the end of the narrative it seems that there has been a resolution as we are brought full circle back to them sitting in the back of a car which is the scene the film opened with but this time there appears to be more tension.
  • Use of sound is intersting in this film. There is little dialouge and even less music. Most of what is heard is diagetic sounds eg. the sounds of the cars in the street. with this lack of sound it leaves much to audience interpretation about the characters emotions by reading into the camera work and characters body language. This is something I feel could work well in our film.
  • One thing that stood out to me the first time watching this film is the placement of the characters in the frame. there are a couple of scenes where the two characters sit on the opposite side of the frame with very little interaction, e.g at the beginning of the film when they are both in the car and when they are both sitting on either side of the bed. This seems to create the feeling that there is tension in the relationship, they feel quite separate from one another.
  • Themes and issues raised by this is that of "what is it to be faithful to another person? And what does it mean to be true to yourself?". The films main plot, and therefore theme, is that of betraying your partner and both Amelia and Micheal have affairs. This is achieved well in the visuals with the mid shot on both the characters sitting on either side of the bed which shows tension for the audience and that although they are together both in terms of being arried as well as both being in the same frame for a long take, they are split from one another.

- ColourBleed

  • Again the theme of this film is social realism however it differs greatly from the last one. This one creates more enigma as the subject matter is not something you would expect to see in a social realist film.
  • Genre conventions used in this film are characterisation - the character is set up at the beginning as we see she is someone who likes art and is quite different from the rest of the people that she meets. There is also good use of camerawark, its simple but effective. there is a good use of shallow depth of filed to draw the audiences attention to a certain part of the frame and also this technique, especially when used in the bueru as it makes the character seem isolated from everyone else which fits what is happening in the scene.
  • I think this film also does make use of the 3 stage narrative, however there is not the typical resolution ending as the character is not able to fight what has caused the disruption. Something else that both ColourBleed and Amelia and Micheal share is a lack of dialouge. There is dialouge used but again its mainly left down to the audeince to interpret from the visuals and allows the audeince to ask questions and to think about what is happening to the character as we are not sure what is happening to her untill it is revelaed but again with it being such a strange occurance it still keeps the audience thinking. This film also follows a chronological order, the same as Amelia and Micheal which works well for this piece as we follow the character through what is happening to her and is still engaging to the audience.
  • Sound has more of a presence in this film than in the last as there is more of a soundtrack to this film which starts off early after the first title and at that time is quite minimalist so we it is nit very noticable to the audience but over time it bulds up with a happy sounding melody for when she sees the bird outside of the window and becomes more sinister as the old lady looks over her before hitting her with the stamp. From this point on the music takes a more darker tone to fit in with whats happening in the scene. Diagetic sound is also used a lot to create a sense of realism and can clearly be heard over the soundtrack as the music stays rather minimal even during the climax.
  • As previously explained the camera work is effective, it used simple shots but there is a variety of the shot types which keeps it interesting even when we cut back to the same part of the scene e.g when the paint is dripping onto the plate, different shot sizes and angles are used when it cuts back to it. Aswell as the camerawork putting forward the idea of isolation mise en scene does to. At the beginning of the film we see the character graffiting a wall, the setting itself is colourful and has a fairly bright amount of natural lighting but as we move into the bureau the setting becomes darker and a lot less vibrant with the set being plain and in disrepair. Also the other people we see in the bueru are wearing nuetrally coloured clothing so in comparison to the main character we feel that she is the odd one out as she stands out more. continuity editing is also used well in this piece as well as the placement of the titles which i think is effective. The overall style of this piece is somthing I find quite intersting and may be something that we think about when it comes to our piece.
  •  Im not entirely sure of the themes and issues surrounding this although one thing that does come to mind is that one particular issue that may be being addressed is that we judge people who we deem to be different. the main character is seen as visually different to those around her and is therefore punished in a way eenthough at the end she becomes something she has always loved or so we assume as we dont see  what happens to her body after she collapses, all that is left is a pinting on the building next to where she was of the bird she was looking at while at the bureau.

two cars, one night from kofe on Vimeo.
    - Two Cars, One Night
    • This film is again a socail realist piece whose narrative is character driven. It keeps to the more realist drama with the simple setting that does not change - a car park outside of a diner. The characters seem very real in how they act and there is a simple narrative to follow.
    • Camera work in this peice is very simple with a single camera being used to create the shots which a large majority of are static shots. there is also minimal lighting used as it is set outside in the dark so that also adds to the realism of it. Aslo instead of using the fade to black transition that the other two films have used to show the passing of time there is time lapsed footage of the car park as well as the people inside which I think is quite interesting and may be something we thaink about using for our piece as we have an idea that we mayt want to do something based around the manipulation of time or if not it is still an interesting techniques that we can use for another idea.
    • The narrative of thise piece is chronological and doesnt follow the three act structure. Instead what we get is more of a 'slice of life' of these characters as it only accounts for what they do on just one night. Also beyond the films ending we can imagine that if this was a longer film that these characters would meet up again at some point in the future as by the end of this film they do get closer to one another and we can imagine it could turn into a love story. In addition with the short narrative it is in someway clearer to she how the characters are getting along as due to the passage of time when we cut back to them each time they intereact more untill at the end the boy is sitting in the girls car quite close to her and being nice wheras at the beggining they were in separate cars and were insulting each other.
    • In this piece there is no music untill the very end, even during the time lapse scenes, all of what we here is diagetic sound. This is interesting as it does seem to create a mood of lonliness and possible boredom as these 2 characters are sitting in the cars waiting for there parents for a long time with noting to do so i think that works quite well for this piece.
    • The main themes and issues surrounding this piece are that of gender and it is seen in quite a childish way. By that I mean that with young kids there is always that thing of 'boys are better better than girls' or 'girls are better than boys' so people of different genders are separated by that ideology and there isn't as much a theme of romance as there would be with older characters. The boy is trying constantly to make himself seem better than the girl by insulting her at the beggining of the narrative as well as showing respect to the mauri man who drives past as a sign of traditional masculinity. By the end of the narrative the girl seems to be in a more powerful position than the boy as she gives him her ring so he doesnt forget about her, shes taking control of the situation.

     - Answer

    • This film is different to the others as there is no dialogue to be found and I feel it doesn’t really fit into any specific genre. It is about someone finding the meaning of life by following certain books. There are no real genre conventions that this film follows but the camera work, continuity editing and mise en scene give this film a sense of being real so it could possibly be placed in the social realism genre like the others.
    • The narrative of the film is short and simple but can still fit the three act structure. The set up of this story is that the character has a dream about this book that he finds in his house that holds some important information for him. Previous to and after this dream we see the character surrounded by books of different types, we are drawn to one in particular with a mid close up shot of a book in the centre of the frame titled “Getting to Know the Real You”.

    • This suggests that the character may be unhappy with how he is and is looking to find something a deeper meaning in his life. The confrontation is that when he wakes from his dream the book is not where he dreamt it was so has to search through his entire book collection, growing increasingly more desperate to find this book that contains the “answer”. The resolution is that he finds the book that he is looking for and exit’s the house into a white light that could be representative of heaven which also brings connotations of religion providing the answer for people. Costume also changes towards the end of the narrative. At the beginning the character is dressed in just a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms but when he finds the answer in the book he has been looking for he undergoes a transformation and changes into a smart shirt and trousers which suggests he has pulled himself together in order to gain the answer.
    • Sound in this film is used effectively, at the beginning there is no soundtrack to be heard, only very faint diegetic sound is heard. As the characters wakes up the soundtrack starts, it starts off slow as the character investigates their house and builds up when they start reading the book. As they wake form the dream state it ends sharply along with the cut to the character in bed. The soundtrack stars again when the character looks for the book in his house, it is more frantic than the previous part of the soundtrack and the tempo does seem to increase as the character becomes more desperate to find what he is looking for. The soundtrack then changes once again at the end of the film and does support the connotation of the white light possibly being a symbol or religion as the soundtrack becomes almost angelic as the film reaches its resolution. Editing is also used well with an interesting use of jump cuts especially in the scene where the character first wakes up in his dream and searches the house. The camera breaks the 30 degree rule by not moving much in-between the cuts and the character doesn’t move much either. This is an unusual technique that does draw the audiences attention to the processes of editing and does provide some discontinuity, suggesting that he may not be in the real world.

    • There aren’t really any specific themes and issues that this short film focuses on. The main issue of the entire film appears to be about finding yourself and searching for that deeper meaning in life. As the film is named ’Answer’ the theme it seems is also one of finding the meaning of life as a whole which is again something that links into the religious connotations.

     ColourBleed (2011) - Peter Szewczyk
ColourBleed is a short film just over 8 minutes which is directed by Peter Szewczyk. It is about a "young girl who crosses paths with a scheming, and enigmatic old woman, who harbours a dark secret. What seems like a small act of cruelty between strangers, will fracture the very foundations of a city." I think the imagery and strong graphics really stood out, along with the original storyline, which I really liked about this short film.

ColourBleed mainly shows social realism but has elements of a fantasy genre. Although ColourBleed is a drama, but there are many sub genres such as romantic drama, period drama and crime. In the film it shows a serious life situation (no comedy), and it shows a character develop in a realistic situation. However the fantasy genre is explored through the film, this is done through the creation of a colourful, bird-like creature and ink representing the girl's blood which changes colours - hence the name ColourBleed.

Screenshots to the opening of ColourBleed

The opening to ColourBleed shows the girl spray painting on the wall, but being quite creative but it is obvious that she stands out from the crowd. She appears different through use of mise en scene. Her costume in contrast to the other people she passes in the queue, (who are wearing dull, ordinary clothing.) For example she is dressed in bright colours, her t-shirt is bright red with a picture of Kate Moss swearing, bright pink tights and big, black doc martins. She also has piercings on her face, tattoos over her body and brightly coloured hair which is shaved on one side, this could all be stereotypically interpreted as her expressing her rebellion, youth and a desire to stand out from the crowd

In ColourBleed there is a variety of different camera shots. Even in the first minute, a range of shots are used from a close up of the spray painting nozzle, to a long shot of the girl painting the wall. Depth of field is also used well in the film. For example, when the girl is standing in line waiting for the stamp, she is in focus and everyone else in the queue is blurred in the background, which makes the emphasis on the girl, but also how she stands out so much in a crowd.

The lighting in ColourBleed appears to be ambient lighting and the characters seems to be lit by natural, surrounding light. However, I think that when the girl is standing in line to be stamped, that artificial lighting may have been used to brighten up and make the main focus on her.
Sound is used effectively in ColourBleed. The soundtrack, which is used frequently in different parts of the film is a mixture of orchestra instruments, which is used effectively to create a eerie atmosphere and to create suspense. In ColourBleed silence is also important, it emphasises the girls alienation within society and confusion with what is going on with her.
The dialogue is very minimal in ColourBleed which leaves it open for interpretation for the audience. I think as the girl has so little dialogue it emphasises her distress and confusion. It also is more dramatic when she does say her few lines, such as when she says to the women, "what's your problem, my fingers?!" which makes it more shocking.
These are screenshots from the scene where the girl is sitting on the chair, embracing herself, I like the use of fading to black between different shots as it highlights/intensifies her distress and confusion.
I really like the editing, which is shown in the screenshots above. The use of fading to black and cutting to the next shot, makes it feel really intense, as though time is slowing down, and the main focus being on the reaction of the girl.

This is quite a useful link which shows the story boarding of ColourBleed

    Memories (2010) - Radoslaw Sienski

Memories is a short film (made by students) which follows a man, who appears to be reliving all his memories. I think it is the man moments from death, and is having the moment of his life flashing before his eyes. He is shown, finding and collecting lots of film, which I think are photographs from his life. The photographs seem to trigger the memories to come alive and he relives the moment. Some people have interpreted the film as the man has an illness such as dementia and through looking at the photographs he is beginning to remember his memories from the past. I think through having no dialogue, it makes it open to however the audience want to interpret and that is what I like about this film.

Through camera work and editing, it shows when the man sees or relives the memories it goes to a graphic match of a still film negative to a short clip from the photograph. The short clip is all grainy and the image flickers, which I think goes with the story as it shows remembering something that has happened is not always as clear and sharp as it was at the time. However, I think I would have preferred the graphic match of the film negatives to turn black and white, rather than to have a yellowy tinge as I think it would have made it to feel more like the past.
The ending of the film shows a change of point of view shown through the camera. As the audience, we are no longer observing the man's memories and see him finding a collection of film negatives, but it changes to the point of view of the man, and we see him on the swings, living the memories and eventually left with the mans hand sliding away and the screen turning to black (which feels as though his eyes are closing.)
I think this scene, when the man is dragging lots of film negatives along behind him is a strong image, as it could show how his identity is merely made up of memories and it is what is weighing him down.
The sound is poignant in the film, as it starts with just hearing diegetic sound of the man walking along the street, and as the memories flash back, the soundtrack begins. The tempo of the music becomes more intense as the man finds more and more film negatives, and relives more memories. However, as the film ends the soundtrack slows down, and ends with one final note, which is similar to the sound made when the heart stops in hospital, which suggests the man is dead. Again, the absence of dialogue leaves the audience to make sense of the film themselves.
    About a Girl (2001) - Brian Percival

About a Girl is short film directed by Brian Percival. About a Girl appears to follow the life of a young girl, who seems to be documenting her life to the camera. However, it raises issues to the audience and overall leaves them in shock through the powerful message conveyed, but they also left questioning what has just happened.

Screenshot of the opening of About a Girl
The opening to About a Girl is a powerful long shot of a silhouette of the girl standing in the the skyline. She is also singing along to a Britney Spears song and the lyrics are, "I am stronger than yesterday,' which could be significant to the girl's journey and to the shocking ending of the film.
The girl is shown walking along a canal talking which originally seems she is just talking about trivial topics such as her favourite ice cream and explains about her friends, but then changes just for a few moments to her explaining about abuse and her family troubles.

This screen shot shows the girls eye contact with the camera, and then how it cuts to her in a different location.
The camera work in About a Girl seems to show the girl's emotional distress as when she talk about what seems to be sensitive topics to her, the story becomes fragmented and cuts to another scene. For example, around 1:18, the camera shows the girl in a medium close up walking along, and she says 'that bastard's my dad' then almost immediately it cuts to her sitting with a man and her saying 'I'm not a kid' then cuts back to her walking again. It's almost as if when she starts to feel emotion, she seems to cut out as though it all gets to much for her to talk about.
This is also reinforced by the girl's body language as she is walking along looking at the floor, then makes eye contact with the camera  for a split second, and then she looks back at the floor as if she is ashamed or embarrassed talking about her dad.
Towards the end of the film the girl talks about a dog she got and how she, "hid it in our Jamie's room for two days until my mum "and how her mum "got the neighbours to put it in the canal. I don't know where..." Then, there is a silence, and the camera changes to a high angle and long shot of the girl looking down at the canal and she explains she has "gotten dead good at hiding things since then." This makes the ending to the film even more shocking and it leaves the audience with many unanswered questions.
Sound is also an important element in About a Girl. Although there is no soundtrack, the girl singing the Britney Spear's song joins the beginning of the girl in the skyline, to the distressing end at the canal with the same song. Also the song shows how when the audience, first see the girl as an innocent 13 year old who is a telling us her ambitions to be famous, but leave the film with a completely different opinion and even have the reaction of being shocked and confused.
About a Girl brings up some themes and issues. The main issue is teen pregnancy and problems in the girls family, so much so that she has to keep the pregnancy secret from her mum. It also highlights that although the girl is seen happy and having a good time with her friends, she is actually isolated and has to keep a secret.

    Bro

Bro is a short film showing a social realistic drama which shows a boy (Simon) and his brother (Mark) with disabilities. It is set in a ordinary realistic setting and focuses on a family story, with a conflict between Simon and his brother, Mark, but also between Simon and his mother, in what seems a single parent family. The short film really stood out to be and I found it inspiring as well as a very relatable film as it does not conform to the normal stereotypical film narratives.
This shot shows Simon, Mark and their mother. The lack of eye contact between them all suggests a lack of connection between them

Bro shows how in a family with someone with disabilities, it can affect everyone around them. This is shown through Simon having to think of his brother before himself, and when he doesn't it can end with disastrous consequences.

Through camera work, depth of field shows the focus on the female character, which we find out is the girl that Simon likes.

I think this is an emotional scene even when Simon is trying to fit in, have an 'ordinary' life, and try and forget his responsibilities of caring for his brother, he is still worrying about Mark. This is shown through camera work as it not only has close ups of the two brothers, but shows a POV shot of Simon watching Mark and eventually goes over to comfort him.

"I wanted to go out tomorrow night"
"There's nothing stopping the two of you going out when I'm at work"
    "On my own!"
"This is your problem, nobody elses"
"Yea your right, its my problem when everyone keeps the distance or takes the piss"
    "That's enough"

    A Question of Time

Question of time is a short film which experiments with manipulation of time and whether events of the past and present can be altered. I like the idea used, that when the father changes his pocket watch time it synchronises with the clock on Big Ben

No More: "A short stylized piece showing issues in everyday life, but in a very vivid and detailed way."
Slows/stops time - idea of labelling emotions. "happiness" "freedom"

    Evaluation - Ella

This is my evaluation on group AS media project, however, if I could do this again I probably would have used a variety in camera shots and in different backgrounds. Also, would create a script so that we could have covered all the points on the evaluation and so that it flowed more smoothly.

    Evaluation (Rebekah Smith)

    Thursday, 10 November 2011

    Research (Rebekah Smith)

    1. Shane Dawson Friends 4 Ever 2011
    • This has a lot of close up shots to suggest that the genre could be horror, some of the themes and issues in this short film are bullying because they are not pretty enough or popular enough to the main character, it is a sleepover with girls so there is props such as pink laptops, everything is pink and fluffy and very furry to suggest stereotypical female behaviour.

    • This film uses Horror conventions with the lighting, I find it interesting and good that they use these convention, although its not as scary film as such like saw or final destination, it makes the audience question what will happen next and will anyone die, it also shows comedy conventions for example at the start of the film, with the girls partying and dancing.

    • This short film uses its format at it is 22 minutes long and it is a slice of life, showing how this girl lives and what she does, which causes these things to happen. It is a story about this girl called Amy and her friends who are having a sleepover they prank this boy called Danny dandruff by posting his address online, however things turn for the worse. The start of this film shows what happens before it starts then it goes back to before the bag things happen and before Amy decided to prank Danny. This is a bit like Brief Encounter where the ending is the start.

    • I find the music interesting as it seems like a good song the use of sound is used well as it is parrel to what is going on in the text for example the scene where the murders are happening the music helps to emphasises this.

    • The editing in this short film is good as it uses different types such as continuity editing, however some bits do seem off but not a lot and they are not noticed that much, one bit that i noticed was where Laurie Beth opens the door with her right hand on the handle its cuts to a close up and she is holding the handle with her left hand. There is establishing shots, close ups and medium shots in this film, this is done well because then it shows everything that is going on around them. Mise en scene in this short film represents the characters, such as the food the music player, the laptop and everything else, it shows each of their personalities by their costume.

    • The themes and issues in this film is bullying and what can happen if you are mean to others, the audience are positioned so that they don't know whats going to happen in a way they know just as much as the character know, however because of the way it starts the audience know something is in the house and making the girls scream and run away however they don't know what it is.
2.Isabel Anderton One To One 2004
    •  This has drama in it as it is about two teenage girls that like the same boy it has a lot of close up and the whole thing is shot on a bus ride home. The audience can tell that they both like the boy because when they speak to him on the phone they have both got smiles on their faces, the audience can tell this because there is close up shots.
    • The genre conventions that this film uses are social realism, it is more realistic as best friends liking the same boy happens a lot.
    •  This short film is a slice of life as it is just a bus journey with two girls talking about their life although the film is about them liking the same boy none of them know that, however they both talk about this party or where they went to the park and met this guy.
    •  The use of sound is very realistic as it is just normal background noises, noises of the bus no music, noises of people on the bus talking. I find that interesting because of how realistic it is, they decided not to use any music.
    •  The camera and mise en scene is good because the two teenagers are watching school uniform and the camerawork uses a lot of close ups as well as two shots. I like this because of the fact they haven't used a lot of camerawork and kept it simple it makes it better in my opinion.
    •  The themes and issues that this represents are relationships, popularity, beauty because they both like the same guy but only one will get him, the way it is presented the mixed race girl will get it as she decides to text him and do something about it, however the other girl is more on the fence because she knows that her friend likes him.

    3.  About a Girl.
    • The genre in this is not that clear, it is drama but it is almost like a documentary as she is talking about her life about what she does what her oarents are like however it has some drama elements because of the end.
    •  This film uses genre conventions of drama as it shows reality in a way as she was pregnant and some of the things that she does is like what normal people do in everyday life such as on the bus however other things that this character does is not what normal people do which is why the ending is so dramatic and no one would expect it to happen.
    • In a way this is a slice of life, however it is several days she is talking about her lifestyle and what she can do and what she does she takes on a role as a daughter a mother which the audience find out at the end and a sister, she wants to be popular in a way but she doesn't want to be found out and this is what makes it interesting.
    • The use of sound is interesting the same as its similar to One to One with the background noises, there is no music just her talking and any of the noises in the background, i like this because it gives a more realistic side to it without making it to much into a short film.
    • There is a lot of different camerawork used in this short film, it varies from close up to medium shots groups shorts and establishing shots, i like this because it gives a variety and not just one type all the time, it means that the audience can see everything that is going on in this short film, i like the camerawork as it shows something different to some other short films, such as the shot in the water at the end was a good shot because it showed something not a lot of films show. The mise en scene in it was also good because although it was different day she still wore the same costume with the coat and it didn't show a lot of her family just the most important film, which is what you have to do with a short film.
    •  The themes and issues that this short film  represents are about teenage pregnancy and about popularity and looks and about family, she doesn't want to be seen pushing a push chair and her dad doesn't talk to her much or interact with her much but she still loves him, with the teenager pregnancy she has to hide it from her mum she says that "since then I've been good at hiding things from my mum" which shows that she hid her pregnancy from her mum and she couldn't tell her as that would make things worse.
    4. Rob Brown Silent Things 2010

    •  This film is a hybrid as it has different genres which make it interesting, there is not a  lot of dialogue either which makes it interesting

    • The genre conventions that this film uses are different ones this is what makes it interesting, it has some drama in it however the audience are not fully aware of what is going on but it is good because it means that the audience get to experience what is going on.

    • This is a slice of life as it is several days put into one short film, however everything is the same throughout the days.

    • The use of sound is good because there is some dialogue and there a bit of sound which is parrel, the music was used when there was no dialogue this made it good because it made it more interesting.

    • The camerawork is good the same as the mise en scene because there is different types used, the costume is the same throughout and so is the location however there is different camera shots used which makes it interesting.

    • The themes and issues that are represented in this are about disabilties and that shows what can happen.
